I am restoring a White 9000TD and this book has been a great source of information about where some things were located on my truck

Only 2 left in stock (more on the way). Only 2 left in stock (more on the way). I am restoring a White 9000TD and this book has been a great source of information about where some things were located on my truck. The quantity and quality of the pictures are fantastic and I am considering purchasing the next in the series, White Trucks of the 1960s. One person found this helpful.

Like the book " White Trucks of the 1950's ", there are quite a few black and white pictures in this book, but this adds a very nice nostalgic touch to the material. There are also plenty of color photos that show how beautiful these trucks were in any setting. I have to admit that I'm more than a little partial to the White brand of truck because, like the author, my father hauled livestock in the 70's for a meat processing plant in West Texas

Maybe a Chevrolet Trucks at Work 1969-1980? With some color pics, that would be cool. Dodge Heavy Duty trucks got a book, And those were more RARE than Chevy's so Why not do A Titan 90(not that rare) and Bison (Rare) book? Barry, I think I might get your book First ;) The White Trucks of the 60's book along with the autocar 60's book :) Thanks. I am author of the 2 White books, one on the 1950s and the second on the 60s. The last page of the 60s book contains color photos of a Road Boss and of a Road Commander, but the rest are of models found in the 60s, including the "XRL" series, which was the immediate forerunner of the RB/RC series.

White Motor Company was a major producer of American trucks between 1919 and 1980 with its primary manufacturing facilities in Cleveland, Ohio. The company began as a sewing machine manufacturing concern founded in 1876 by Thomas H. White and expanded by his sons into steam and gasoline-powered automobiles; however, it was in the trucking field that White made its mark. During its production years, White offered a broad array of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks before concentrating on the latter from the 1960s on. In addition to its brand name, White purchased and/or marketed a litany of other trucking manufacturers, including Reo, Diamond T, Diamond Reo, Autocar, Whitehorse, PDQ, Western Star, and White Freightliner trucks. White fell on hard financial times and declared bankruptcy in 1980. The named lived on for awhile in the 1980s under the parentage of corporate giant Volvo. This book reviews White medium and heavy-duty truck models in roughly the decade of the 1950s, including the WC, 3000, 4000, 5000, and 9000 series.

Fantastic book ! The author (Bertram) does a very nice job arranging the material so that you not only get great pictures of these old work horses , you get useful information about the trucks as well ( engine options , transmission options , ect. ). Most of the pictures are black and white , but this adds a very nice nostalgic touch to the book . There are a few color photos as well , such as the cover photo , that show how simple yet beautiful these old trucks were and still are . Any truck enthusiast would be proud to have this book in his collection . Thanks to the author , photographers , the American Truck Historical Society and the people that restore these trucks so that young and old alike can see them and appreciate their historical value !
