This paper investigated the damage conditions of mastic asphalt pavement on orthotropic steel deck plate, analyzed the damage causes, including the properties of pavement materials, mechanical conditions with different truck load, traffic content, and so on.
Al-Qadi et al. (2010) used cross. anisotropic stress dependency of granular layers to analyze the thin pavement. This paper investigated the damage conditions of mastic asphalt pavement on orthotropic steel deck plate, analyzed the damage causes, including the properties of pavement materials, mechanical conditions with different truck load, traffic content, and so on. Analysis results indicate that failure of high-temperature stability and fatigue property, overload and slow velocity of trucks, heavy and dense traffic are the main causes for the damage.
