Why it's Pippi Longstocking, of course. I have always loved Pippi Longstocking, despite the rather horrifying things (from a modern perspective) that happen in the stories, like strange men threatening to spank little children. We checked out this picture book version of a chapter from one of the books we own, but I liked it less this way.

Pippi Longstocking has her own special way of doing everything. When she goes to the circus, she doesn't just watch-she takes over! She stands on the back of a trotting horse, does spectacular tricks on the tightrope, and lifts the strongest man in the world over her head. You've never seen a circus like this before! Books about Pippi have been enjoyed by children all over the world for fifty years. has inspired generations of children with her spunk and power.

In a tale excerpted from the original novel, Pippi and her friends, Tommy and Annika, attend the circus where Pippi walks the tightrope, rides the back of a horse, and wrestles with Adolph, the "World's Strongest Man."

We took our grandchildren to the circus. I purchased this book as a follow up from the outing. It is perfect to reinforce what we saw at the circus and a nice reminder of the memories we made there. The illustrations were very appealing and I was impressed with the content.

GOOD PURCHASE!

Thank you.

I thought this was another Pippi Longstocking chapter books, but was saddened to discover that it looks more like a preschool/kindergarten book.

While Pippi Longstocking (in my opinion) is one of the best children's book series, I was very disappointed to find that this book is just a chapter taken directly from one of Astrid Lindgrin's three Pippi novels.

I bought this book to read to my 7-year-old before bed, thinking it was something we could enjoy over several nights. Luckily I have a 4-year-old as well, because this is just a single chapter from the longer Pippi books, illustrated on every page, and far more appropriate for a smaller child. It only takes about 5 minutes to get through.

It's good, just be warned.

This book is an excerpt from the longer Pippi Longstocking book.

My daughter really enjoys these stories-they're a little difficult for her to read alone, but we can get through it together pretty easily.
somewhere in information it should tell that it is a chapter from another book
if you haven not seen the series you would have no idea it is not a full book
granddaughter age 10 read it in a couple of minutes
it was a birthday gift . she was disappointed
