Brief Book Summary: This book teaches children how to tell time by first defining what time is and why telling time is important. It does through many clocks and describing different situations we tell Title: Telling Time: How to Tell Time on Digital and Analog Clocks Author: Jules Older Illustrator: Megan Halsey Genre: How-to Book Theme(s): Time, telling time, concept of time Opening line/sentence: "When people talk about telling time, they don’t mean, Hey, Time, I’ve got something to. tell you!

Time isn't an easy concept for kids to grasp, but young readers will delight in learning all about it with the fun and lively lessons in TELLING TIME.

Summary: This book describes what time is, why we tell time, and how to tell time using calendars, analog clocks, and digital clocks. The author talks about how long different activities take, the elements on a calendar, . the three hands on a clock, and the chunks of time. My reaction: I thought this was very a very good informational book. All children need to learn how to tell time on an actual clock instead of reading the numbers on their phone. I know too many children that cant look at the clock and figure out what time it is because they don't know the basics of it.

The teacher will read the book, Telling Time: How to Tell Time on Digital and Analog Clocks! by Jules Older. This book discusses what time means, the time of the day when different things may occur, digital clocks, analog clocks, and the parts of an analog clock. After reading the book as a class, the teacher will show the class an analog clock and a digital clock. The teacher will decorate the clocks as the clock characters Ana Log Clock and Dig Ital Clock and will introduce them as brother and sister. Ana is her first name Log is her middle name and Clock is her last name.

Telling time is especially important as you grow up and become a busy person. If you need to tell time on an analog clock, remember that the short and thick hand tells the hour, but the long and slightly thinner hand tells the minute. This article here is for anybody who wants to know how to tell time  . That makes the hour hand easy to read because if it points at the 2, it is 2 o’clock; or if it points at the 3, it’s 3 o’clock. However, when the minute hand points at a number, you have to multiply it by 5 to get the minutes.

REALLY long and a bit drawn out as many of the other reviews say. I definitely don't see myself sitting down and gettign through a whole read with my 3 and 4 year old, BUT if you read this in sections or "units" it lends itself to that and when broken up in this way could easily hold young attention and be very helpful to their understanding. Also the illustrations are simple and easy for them to grasp alongside the concepts this book teaches. A great homeschooling resource for us. I also purchased My Own Little Judy Clock with Booklet as well as the Judy clock worksheet book to go along with this and think all together these products will help teach my little ones to tell time in no time!

Purchased to teach telling time to our special needs grand-daughter. Putting the information about broader time frames at the beginning of the book was confusing. I think that information should have been put at the end of the book. The book was advertised as "how to tell time on digital or analog clocks" so the initial focus should have been on that. I found the book confusing for my purposes.

A very good book on teaching young children how to tell time. The illustrations are big, clear and easy to read and understand.

It's a good book for explaining time to maybe an 8 year old.. It's too complicated for my 4yearold whom doesn't have the greatest attention span.

Neat telling of how time works and what time is. You have options to read and share at different levels of age. I use it for Pre-K. It's probably more suited for K - 1, but accompanies the introduction to the concept of time nicely.

I used this book for my 5 year old son thus far. It was great at helping him understand the relationships of time from seconds to centuries. It is a book you can read again and again to illustrate time.

I bought this for my grandson. He is only four but had learned his numbers and wanted to learn how to tell time. This book is great and he loves it. He gave up his stuffed doggy and was sleeping with this book when he first got it.
It's actually a bit dated. Has reference to 2016 as if it was the future.
