Summary: Mama Bear is surprised when she discovers why Sister and Brother Bear broke the piggy bank she was using to teach them about saving their money.

Excerpt from The Berenstain Bears at Camp Crush. Maybe I can get in on this. Ralph, Papa, and the squire all read well in their auditions, so they got the parts. Chapter 1 - Bullhorn Baits His Hook. Ralph threw some bills down on the table and hurried outside. Hi there, stranger! he said. That left Mayor Horace J. Honeypot the part of mayor of Beartown during the Great Bear War. The only trouble was his reading. To say it wasn’t very good would be an understatement. And to say it was a disaster wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

The Bear cubs like to spend, spend, spend. Will the new piggy bank Mama bought help teach Brother and Sister about saving money?

This is a Level One I Can Read! book, which means it’s perfect for children learning to sound out words and sentences. It aligns with guided reading level J and will be of interest to children Pre-K to 2nd grade.

I like the lesson here; they got mama a birthday present and earned the candy from the store owner. We are adding it to our large collection of Berenstain Bear books. I like that Mama uses some bible quotes, but if you are not religious, this might offend you so be cautioned. We are semi religious, and I don't think my child will notice the religious aspect. She is interested in saving in a coin jar, so she will enjoy the bears learning about it. Overall, I give it a 5star rating.

This book not only taught about how you should save you're money, but it also teaches you about how you don't have to spend you're money on yourself. I loved the part where Sister and Brother used their money to buy a birthday present for their mama. If you want to know what they bought for her, you should buy this book.

Cute book! I got it with a piggy bank for my niece so she could learn about spending money wisely. It's a little cheesy but cute for young kids.
The sweetest book about the importance of saving money for something special. Since reading and sharing the story with his class, my son has become more mindful of his spending and wants to save more for that special something.
