Remnants- by: KA Applegate This book is pretty good. It has lots of adventure in it, so that’s why I wanted to read this book. It turns out that I really liked this book. Katherine has written three picture books: The Buffalo Storm; The Remarkable True Story of Ivan, the Shopping Mall Gorilla (often used as a companion book to The One and Only Ivan for younger readers); and Sometimes You Fly (publishing in spring, 2018). For beginning readers, Katherine wrote Roscoe Riley Rules, a seven-book series. With her husband, Michael Grant, Katherine co-wrote Animorphs, a long-running series that has sold over 35 million books worldwide.

In the gripping Mayflower Project, the first of the Remnants series, she establishes several diverse characters and the tensions and alliances between them and sets them on their way into the wild blue yonder. A 14-year-old technogeek who calls himself Jobs after computer king Steve Jobs; the angry, aggressive son of America's African American woman president; a dreamy, psychic boy, adopted as a toddler from an orphanage in Chechnya; and a driven, strikingly beautiful, yet horribly disfigured girl who calls herself 2Face.

SURVIVAL REMNANTS . Applegate CHAPTER 1 YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS. That’s why the scared, lost band of Remnants had been fighting for control of her ever since they’d mysteriously woken up here. Tate turned to face the door. There, in the gloom of the immense doorway, a darker shadow. They’d fought aliens in the beginning - and when they’d finally managed to overpower most of the aliens, they began fighting one another. Tate hadn’t seen this last move coming, though.

Roscoe Riley doesn't mean to break the ruless. Never Race a Ranaway Pumpkin. The hilarious chapter book series about an accidental rule breaker from Katherine Applegate, Newbery Medal–winning and bestselling author of The One and Only Ivan and Crenshaw, returns with a fresh new cover from artist Brian Biggs and bonus material! It seems like everyone has an award of some kind.

This book serves as a transitional piece in the Remnants series, much like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is to the Harry Potter septology.
The book takes up from the sixth book with the Remnants split into factions. 2Face assumes the leadership of one group, and they head toward the bridge. Tamara and the baby lead the smaller group, which heads toward a Rider camp.
Tate wants to aid the residual human in Tamara and follows her deep into the enemy camp. What she sees greatly disturbs her and she narrowly escapes.
Tate, Roger Dodger and D-Caf try a daring scape of some of the Riders' hoverboards. The chase scene that follows will have you sick with anticipation until its breathtaking resolution.
Yago takes a peripheral role in this novel, but he does start to believe that he pure and chosen by Mother to continue a new non-marred human civilization on her ship.
2Face nearly takes the role of Yago in her group, becoming angry when others are hesitant to follow her lead. Kubrick has feelings for this girl and protects her with his life.
Upon nearing the bridge, a massive battle breaks out. The Riders have nasty moves, but the Meanies have some tricks up their sleeves. As more and more are killed in the battle, the Baby grows stronger. The baby's true identity is confirmed in the novel as well as the location of the bridge.

I was always looking forward to each release for the Remnants books. As always, this one combined scariness of "other" and scariness of "ourselves" in one volume.

I thought that this was a great and exciting book. I liked the part though when some of the remnants got to use the hover boards. This book was filled with adventure and excitement. Some of the parts are pretty graphic though. There was a big battle scene and I think you'll find it interesting to see how it turns out. There is also a great secret that arises with the people in the group. I thought the secret was unexpected and that it really brought some excitement to the book. Overall I think that you'll love it. Have Fun!!!
