Walk with a Wolf is a part of the Candlewick Press series Read and Wonder. I love this series of books for my daughters. It is an excellent source of nonfiction for young children. This title is full of soft watercolor illustrations that depict the life of a wolf pack. The book includes a scene where a pack of wolves hunts a moose, but the scene is handled well and is not scary for my four-year-old. I highly recommend this title and any other in the series.

I liked that this came with two levels of text. It provided a rhyming sort of story scheme with underlying facts. We talked about the times of year when the wolves would be doing things. I lied that it ties wolf life events into events liek holidays that most kids can recognize.

This was a good book. Happy to see wolf stuff out there. I bought it for my 5 year old who is obsessed with wolves but it’s meant for an older child he lost interest fairly soon. My 8yr old actually loved it.

My son loves listening to audio books at bedtime. These books are educational, informational, and engaging!

The information contained in the book is a little too graphic for me (the very first page is very wordy, anyway.) My son is 4 and couldn't handle that stuff. But the rest of the book is great. The poetry seems a little forced but the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely order more books in this series.

Some of the storyline was too gory for the age group.

My daughter loves this book. She is really into wolves right now and this caught her eye. The illustrations are true works of art and the detail in them is interesting. The story is informational, yet simple. It's an all around good book.

No talking animals here. And real predation is described as well as hunger and cold, but the author does it in a way that should not upset a young child and is much more truthful than most depictions of animals. This is one of my favorite books to read at bedtime!
Okay story, my child loves wolves and was excited to receive this book, the illustrations are superb but the over story is lacking.
