Every effort is made to reach out to this strange, silent woman, but after living through her worst nightmare, she isn’t soon ready to trust anyone with her secrets…not God, and definitely not the handsome soldier who tries to befriend her.

An inspirational, encouraging, Christian, light romamce set in 1878 Nebraska in an Army post during their daily regiments. Four people that stand out; Laina, a young girl that had been abused, she is struggling to get her live back together. Nathan Boone lost his wife and is healing and is helping Liana to heal. Also a new soldier who took a new name for himself and joined the Army to forget his past. Granny Max an older, strong woman, she helps the body and soul to heal with her wonderful words of wisdom and her faith.

The Charaters have memorial personalities with hope for the future and redemption. The story flows easily the plot is full of hardships, hope and love coming from a good storyteller Stephanie Grace Whitson. I enjoy the spiritual Bible verses and Granny Max giving love to everyone and that she hears GOD knowing that He is always there. All the spiritual phases fit easily in the plot and is not overwhelming everything works together. A WONDERFUL story.

Once again, author, Stephanie Grace Whitson has hit the ball out of the park! This book is deserving of a 5 Star rating because it is writing at its finest. I could not guess the ending and it was hard to put the book down when I had other things to do. The characters were alive and memorable. The story about military life was fascinating. Granny Max was a woman of faith in a world where all she had left were her memories and a heart for pointing others to God. She proclaimed a hope that would leave a legacy of hope for generations to come and her door was always open. This book is also going to be a reread for me.

I really wanted to like this book and I really did like most of it, But I hate books with very short endings or endings that the story line does not explain how it got there. So 5 stars for the most of the story and 1 star for the ending. I liked very much your writing style and the christian content, but books have a beginning, middle and an end. When I get disappointed on the ending I have a hard time wanting to buy the next one in the series and be disappointed again.

I rarely take time to write reviews of books I read (I know, selfish of me), but as this was one of the better books I've read in awhile, I felt prompted to do so. This was a very good book! The author has the ability, and took the time. to fully develop the characters. There weren't too many to keep up with, but enough of them to nicely round out the story. My motto is 'life's too short to read bad books'. If a book doesn't snag me fairly early on, then hold me, I close it and move on. This was a book I was anxious to see how it would end, but sad to see the characters go when it did.

Such a wonderfully written story about hardship, faith and love. It all comes together in great faith based characters. Thank you!

This wonderful saga of complex characters showing love, hurt, forgiveness and faith was hard to put down . It made history come alive .

There were some good parts of this book, but the ending was far too abrupt and too much of the story left hanging, including a main character with no resolution at all.
You can depend on this author to deliver a great story....and characters you will love!
