I have just read half of the book, but it provides looks into the sequence of events during which the "moderate" Southern Baptists attempted to comprehend, and then to resist the take-over of the fundamentalists, beginning in 1978, and pretty much ceasing in the late 1980s. It is one side of the controversy, but it is written with pathos and meticulous detail.
