I bought this album because I liked the idea of having all ten years of 50 States Quarters together in one place, and because it could accommodate coins from both the Philadelphia and Denver mints. I'd previously been using a different Whitman album that only held 1999-2001 quarters and needed something for the new 2002 releases.
Unfortunately this album has the coin holes too close together. It is almost impossible to insert quarters without permanently creasing the cardboard surrounding the holes. The album I'd been using previously was much sturdier thanks to having more reinforcing cardboard.
In retrospect I think I'd be happier just having more more albums like my original one.

Overall nice design and construction on this folder. It's a great way to store, protect, and display your whole state and territory quarter collection, both P and D.

The cardboard pages are solid and fold in such a way that no quarters are ever directly touching. For the most part the holes hold onto the quarters really well. I did have an issue on mine where the Rhode Island-D slot is too big, and the quarter falls out of it when you fold the page. I ended up putting it in one of the eight blank spots in the back. It is a bit disappointing, but not a deal breaker; and I'm sure this is just a fluke on my specific folder. All of the other slots hold quarters well even after removing a quarter and putting one back in, which is crucial when you find a nicer quarter to replace the one you have. The eight blank spots I mentioned are nice for varieties or other interesting oddities you might find.

It can be a bit difficult to press in the quarter at times, but it helps to have it on a hard surface. I wear gloves when putting mine in to avoid fingerprints. Kids might need a little help pushing them in. As stated above, though, you want the slots to hold onto the quarters well so they don't fall out.

Having one of these folders is a great way to get into coin hunting and collecting, which is a fun, interesting hobby that kids are sure to love. The folder displays them nicely and encourages you to find the empty slots and find upgrades for the ones you already have. This set is also a great way to learn all 50 state names and the order in which they were created, it also might spark further research into the states.

I've been a fan of the Whitman coin book collection for many years. The quality of this book was right on par.

This particular book has room for every mint of every state for the given years. Many others just allow one coin per state, but with two minting locations they leave something to be desired.

This book does not have that problem. It's low cost, good quality, and fully represents the different mints of every state.

If you want a way to store and easily reference your coins, then get this book. If your child wants to collect state quarters and an easy reference for them to see is helpful, then get this book. If you want to build the collection and pass it off to your children, then get this book.

I have tried several coin collectors but always keep going back to Whitman's since they hold the coins well, feel very solid and look nice on shelves. I do agree with some other users that getting coins in is somewhat of a struggle but I would reather struggle to get them in than have them fall out too easily like some of the other folders allow. I have found that when I press the coin in applying pressure on all sides (I just use my thumbs) they go in better than pressing on one side at the time. Overall, be prepared to have sore thumbs (if you use your thumbs like me) if you are adding numerous coins at the time but the outcome is well worth it! 4 stars for the sore thumbs but I cant think of a way to fix this issue without going to much more expensive product.

I bought the entire collection of these folders that is available at the moment. They all arrived within a day of each other, as expected. New users may think they seem small but they are a very compact and inexpensive way to keep your coins organized. A great tool for the beginner or the experienced coin collector. Be sure to lay the binder on a flat, hard surface like a desk or kitchen counter when entering your coins and you should have no problems.

I am not an avid coin collector, but I started putting all the "state" quarters in a jar and it seemed to me that it would be fun to see if I could get every one of the coins. I'm about halfway there. I'm out in the west, so by far I get more Denver mint marks than those from Philadelphia, so at some point I may give up and buy a few from a coin shop. For now, the fun is in the collecting.

Pretty much every slot is too tight to even push the coin in. I know it should be a snug fit but that’s not even allowing to place them right, so they aren’t snug at all. The book is too soft to press to hard on too so it’s pretty much a lost cause. The slots also show from the back and front of the book, not too pretty. But I guess that’s the price of buying cheap. It’s very pretty other than that, just not very good quality.
I received this Quarter folder from Amazon.com about a week ago and I think its put together rather nicely. The cover and pages are not overwhelmed by the pictures or use of excessive colors. Its rather plain and serves its only purpose: to display quarters. This makes your quarters the focus of attention in the folder. I like how the quarters have two slots for each state one for the "P" Philadelphia mint and one for the "D" Denver mint edition. It folder contains some facts on each state as well as extra slots for additional coins. The folder is hard cover and sturdy, pressing the coins in takes a little work but they stay securely in place.
