He'd been living in it for the past two weeks. It was, to use Melissa's phrase, "ripe beyond belief.

He'd been living in it for the past two weeks. The suit had been around a long time, and over the years the smell of sweat, urine, and God knows what else had worked its way down into hundreds of little nooks and crannies. Lando's air gave out and he was forced to breathe. The sour coppery smell nearly gagged him. His suit radio crackled into life. Hey, Pik, how ya doing?"

In Drifter’s Run, he takes a job piloting a space tug, figuring he could lay low from a cyborg hell bent on finding you. Suddenly Lando is too popular-the government wants his head and a beautiful bounty hunter wants his body. So much for life as fugitive.

Dietz's writing style doesn't change much, remaining at times satisfying and at times distracting.

EVEN SMUGGLING HAS RULES. THE SECOND IS: DON'T LET YOUR GUARD DOWNMeet. Dietz's writing style doesn't change much, remaining at times satisfying and at times distracting. He does well in describing his characters, but very few of them really have very much deve I liked "Drifter" enough to pick up this sequel and give it a read. This book remembers the continuity established by its predecessor, but it doesn't pick up immediately where it left off. Instead, we join Pik Lando sometime later, when he's on the run and down on his luck. Even his beautiful new ship is gone. Sci-fi & Fantasy Cyberpunk Space Opera.

Big trouble loves finding him. Don't miss Lando's other adventures: DRIFTER and DRIFTER'S RUN.

When the Confederacy's Presidential entourage is captured by alien Ramanthians and imprisoned in a brutal slave labor camp, members of the group, led by diplomat Christine Vanderveen, risk everything to keep their identities a secret, while an unauthorized rescue mission, organized by General Bill Booly and led by Christine's ex-lover, Lieutenant Tonio Sanchez, races against time to free the captives. Big trouble loves finding him.

Excellent book
For some reason I really enjoy this series, it has a great lead character and some wonderful sci-fi ideas. I would recommend this book to sci-fi fans that want a hero that reminds them of.... Han Solo, in a good way.
Drifter's Run is the first Deitz book that I have read, and it will not be the last. I picked up this book at the local Halfprice book store when I couldn't find what I was originally looking for. I found this to be a very enjoyable book. It is what I would call a science fiction adventure story.
Dietz's story takes place in the gritty underside of a space empire filled with aliens, cyborgs and the like. Pik Lando is on the run wanted for murder. Fleeing bounty hunters he takes a job as a pilot aboard the salvage ship Junk. The story follows him on a series of adventures with the crew of Junk. This is the second book of three following the adventures of Pik Lando, however I didn't read the first book wasn't lost at all. I found this to be a very enjoyable story and upon finishing I went out and got another of Deitz's books. If you are looking for a good Sci-Fi adventure you will not be disappointed with Drifter's Run.
Dietz is my go-to writer for peculiar twists in military sci-fi. If you’re looking for an entertaining story in 3 books, you’ll be enjoying these characters and an exotic and twisted plot that in many ways bring backs the Wild West galactic grit of Serenity.

5-star fun!
