He is known for his approachable cuisine, which has led him to front numerous television shows and open many restaurants. Born and raised in Clavering, Essex, he was educated in London before joining Antonio Carluccio's Neal Street restaurant as a pastry chef. Jamie's Dinners sees Jamie Oliver going back to basics in the kitchen to revolutionise family meals.

Jamie Oliver's Jamie's Dinners delivers in droves. I purchased this and his My Guide to Making You a Better Cook atthe same time. I havent opened the second one because I have become so enamoured with this one. I have had the books for about a week, and I have cooked out of Jamie's Dinner every night. The results have been delicious. The recipes are clear, and still conversational.

Jamie Oliver is a famous chef, restaurateur, author of cookery books and media personality. Go through this biography to learn more about his profile, childhood, life and timeline. In June 2008, he launched ‘Jamie's Italian’, a business venture in England and followed it up with ‘Jamie's Fowl Dinners’ the same year.

This book is amazing.

I usually have 20 minutes to make dinner and like eating nice food. You know what that meant? Takeaway! Unfortunately, you can only do that for so long before you start feeling kind of gross. I checked this book out from the library. I kept it for 9 months (checked it out 3 times) before I finally decided to buy my very own copy to mangle. Since I'm a librarian, I feel ok saying that in public. ;)

I use it every week- usually several times a week.
*The ingredient lists are both brief and findable in basic grocery stores. If there is something exotic (like Taleggio cheese) something simpler will do (like fontina). My nearest fancy grocer is an hour away, so basic is key!
*The preparation methods are simple and the recipes are written in steps.
*The results are delicious and way healthier than takeaway.

Without exception, everything I've made has been a hit.

Now I reach for lemons and the pepper mill in stead of salt. No, really. I was blown away- but I tried short cutting it with very nice bottled lemon juice: nope. You absolutely need to squeeze fresh. I know, I know... but believe me- 10 seconds with a basic tool and you have a game changer. Getting out a *juicer*- well, I never would. This is especially helpful as I try to eat more fish. I'm terrible with fish, but I can make this fish in this book... and it tastes lovely... and if you follow the directions, you will have no leftovers.

In a surprise twist, this book is the section on sarnies/sandwiches (or sammiches in my house). I know it says dinners, but once you let that go, there's a whole delicious world out there. You may even have sarnies for dinner/tea.

Since I started actually reading Jamie Oliver's books (why didn't I do this when I was younger??), I actually shop *less* and more sensibly. Best of all, there is less waste. Who doesn't love that? The bummer is that I won't go back to those long, complicated, expensive recipes. Oh well! More time for me!

I love cookbooks. I collect them. They hold the promise of beautiful pictures and great food. and if all goes well, inspiration.

The recipes are clear, and still conversational. You can tell to a point he cooks by feel, and he lets you get away with it as well. There's also a good deal of experimentation, and twists on old favorites in here. All are lovely.
Another great thing is that the recipes are easy, with non strange, or hard to come by ingredients. (Granted living out in the boondocks makes for a few challenges, but still..)

A fantastic cookbook. It's one you really will want to cook out of every day, and one that will inspire you to cook more and become more acquainted with your food.

Everything in here is exceptional. Recommended without hesitation.

My review for Jamie Oliver will likely be the same for each of his cookbooks that I have purchased. What I love about him is the obvious passion he has for cooking. Period. Wonderful recipes, easy to follow and delicious. I have over 200 cookbooks, many from well known chef's authors (Lidia... Mario B.,Jacque P.... and other's less well known but established and respected). Honestly, his are now going to be, in my opinion, in the top 10 of "go to" cookbooks for inspiration and recipes. He's fantastic and so are the recipes. His books are unpretentious, visually appealing (photo's abound in the books) and so easy to follow.

Have used many recipes from this cookbook, and they have all turned out great. Easy to follow recipes, most are fairly easy to prep, nutritious and taste great! Can't wait to cook more of the recipes in the book.

This is my ultimate favorite in recipe books. The recipes are easy and the instructions perfect. Jamie is one of the best chef's of his day. He just keeps surprising us with everything he does. These days he's gone organic and is gardening is own vegetables and fruit...excellent. I have other books by him too but this one I really like because the recipes are soooo easy and there are so many ideas for variation. Well done Jamie (once again)!

I like the way he is using a lot of fresh food in his recipes. Often gives you ideas what could be used - don't need a scale to cook, you can improvise - add or leave something out. Makes cooking fun and creative. You can just open your fridge and try out a new recipe just by changing some ingredients. Even if you are a beginner you can follow the recipes which have a new twist to some basic family dinners.

I received the book from my sister and already offered it to some friends - novice or not - all really liked the recipes. The photos are not everybody's taste though - that's why I am not giving 5 stars.

On a weekly basis I flip through this book to find a wholesome, healthy, delicious recipe to make. The recipes are delicious and the language used is descriptive, readable and inspiring.
