Series: Forgotten Realms Legend of Drizzt Graphic Novels (Book 5). Paperback: 144 pages. Publisher: Devil's Due Publishing (August 21, 2007). The graphic novel actually works better in some ways than the original book as a number of the secondary characters-namely Catti-brie and Regis-in the series are fleshed out and moved towards center stage. This work also introduces Artemis Entreri-the prime nemesis of Drizzt. The original book seemed rushed as the heroes faced perhaps too many various dangers and wondrous localities. The pace seems to flow much better in the graphic novel and most of the fight scenes seem appropriate.

If you are a fan of the series then you might as well stop reading and buy now and read.

If not, and this is your first, then don't buy this one but look at the timeline of the novels and select the very first chronologically.

If you still need convinced: Good story. Better characters. Lots of action and fight sequences. Unpredictability. And Darker story.

Spoiler Alert:

If you like for things to not always go well for the main characters, you will like this book.

My copy arrived in fantastic shape. It feels good to now own a copy of the last RAS novel that was fully adapted into comic form. (Starless Night was discontinued before completion.)

However, the artwork is a little disappointing. It doesn't match the novels in a lot of the details. That's not the end of the world, but it is something that I notice.

Great story as are they all by R.A. Salvatore.

First book in the trilogy, Drizzt finds the peace and prosperity of Mithril Hall--marked by Bruenor's reclaiming of his throne and the marriage of Wulgar and Carri-brie--shattered when old enemies arrive to exact their revenge. I read this book almost 20 years ago and loved it; unfortunately mine got ruined in a basement flood. I am glad to see it still in print and will try to get the other two when i can. Awesome job amazon.

Some of the best fight scenes are in this one.

After finishing The Icewind Dale Trilogy I was addicted to Drizzt and his companion's adventures. I got my hands on The Legacy and was more-than-pleased. This book brings back Artemis Entreri from the previous trilogy and Jarlaxle from his relatively minor role in The Dark Elf Trilogy. We get to see a little more of Menzoberranzan and bit more of the drow way of life. The Legacy has all the fights and adventure from the previous books and you won't be disappointed.
