Kieli is a reclusive girl isolated by her ability to see ghosts. Her only friend is her roommate, Becca, the precocious spirit of a former student still residing in Kieli’s dorm. After the events of the second novel, Kieli and Harvey decide to lay low in a mountain town for a while, creating an interesting divergence from the pattern that the first two books established. Prisoners Bound for Another Planet is the first "stationary" book in the Kieli series, as they stay in the aforementioned town the entire book. There are, of course, new ghost troubles and new characters to encounter, with the most significant of the latter being an Undying woman named Beatrix. I do find it significantly better than the weak entry that was White Wake on the Sand and after the events that transpire in this book, I'm eagerly looking forward to getting the next installment, especially with the implications this one holds for Harvey's future.

I've read the first two books, and they were both awesome! This one doesn't fail to deliver. Kabei has a very interesting way of writing and I plan on getting the rest of the Kieli series as soon as possible!

I love this series with a passion! I own the manga adaptions as well and can't wait to buy the next books in the series (when I have the $$ to do so!). In this book, Harvey begins to understand that he has feelings for Kieli, and (it seems to me) Kieli does some growing up and becomes stronger. I definitely would recommend the whole series to anyone of any age, reminding them this is a translated book, so sometimes the writing may not have a...perfect voice, but the translator does a good job of painting the picture.
The ending definitely leaves you yearning for more, as Harvey leaved Kieli behind to protect her from his next mission. They (Harvey and Corporal) think she's going to cry like a little girl, but I hope she cries, then gets mad, then goes after him to the capitol!!!! Chase him down Kieli!
