This is another older historical work that has been recycled for a cheap kindle book. I found it interesting enough but the book is over 100 years old. The author was well respected in his day but there has been a lot of archeological work and other scholarship since then.

From beginning to end it was a little too fast moving and lacking in enough detail to maintain realistic perspective. Parts that had overlapping dates were confusing in that they generally were referring to hundreds of years. There were so many words that apparently were created by the author and had no definition were extremely distracting.

The author has provided tremendous a out of research into this work However, I found it difficult to follow due to unfamiliar name and countries.

This is s great short history for the student that has studied this period well. The countless names and families requires a broadsheet so the reader can track the names and families. Other than that, adequite.

A clear history of the middle ages in a very readable format. All the history I never learned in school is revealed in this book with clear, easy to follow maps and lineages of the middle ages.

It is interesting and does give you good insight on what the
middle ages was all about. It dispels a lot of myths and romanced ideas

Hard to read history, but interesting. Slow reading. It is important to understand middle age history, since few people do have a real grasp of the era.
my favorite period in history----hard to get enough of it since the world was semi -literate at the time and few books were written
