I am a huge Lauren Willig fan for her Pink Carnation series. I have to say this book left me a little lost. I have never read Measure for Measure, so maybe that is the problem for me. If someone had given me this book and not told me who wrote it, I would have never guessed it was Lauren. I will continue to read her books as they come out because she is a wonderful writer in my opinion.

Lauren Willig Very soon, however, Rachel faces two unexpected snags: she finds .

Raised in a poor yet genteel household, Rachel Woodley is working in France as a governess when she receives news that her mother has died, suddenly . Eloise Kelly longs for the romance of years gone by; for a dashing hero like The Scarlet Pimpernel to come and sweep her off her Jimmy Choo-clad feet - but instead she's sloshing around London in the rain and finally realising that romantic heroes are a thing of the past.

Such a wonderful time last night at RJ Julia Booksellers as two thirds of Team W reunited to talk about our curiously coincidental Caribbean books set in Barbados and the Bahamas! Karen White, if only we’d thought to have you write one set in Bermuda!

Lauren Willig is a New York Times bestselling author of historical novels

Lauren Willig is a New York Times bestselling author of historical novels. She is best known for her "Pink Carnation" series, which follows a collection of Napoleonic-Era British spies, similar to the Scarlet Pimpernel, as they fight for Britain and fall in love. A native of New York City, Willig discovered historical fiction when she was only six years old, while she was attempting to find books about her idol, Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Lauren Willig brings her exotic island setting to life with such exquisite sensory detail I lost myself completely. Lauren Willig is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of historical fiction. It’s a story to be savored, a book you will keep on your shelf to read again and again. THE SUMMER COUNTRY is a masterpiece. Her works include The Other Daughter, The English Wife, The Forgotten Room (co-written with Karen White and Beatriz Williams), and the RITA Award winning Pink Carnation series. An alumna of Yale University, she has a graduate degree in history from Harvard and a . from Harvard Law School.

Something is rotten at Harvard Law. As the frat boys take over the Law Review and the law school sorority, the Veritarts, bring hems to a new high and grades to a new low, the Dean is very strangely gone, leaving in charge one Arthur Agnelli, a scholar of unimpeachable reputation. When a popular lecturer is accused of having an affair with one of his students, 2L Megan Milner reluctantly agrees to try to intercede with Agnelli. But is Agnelli really what he seems? And will the Dean return before the free coffee runs out? In this tongue in cheek satire, the plot of "Measure for Measure" is transposed to Harvard Law.
Having read the rest of Lauren Willig's published work and while awaiting those to come I stumbled on Two L. I found the story interesting and entertaining as are all of Willig's novels, but this one was sneaky too. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The plot and characters were "right on". It would be hard not to be entertained by Two L.
Lauren Willig''s RITA winning Pink Carnation series is well-loved by her fans. Here she proves her versatility by penning a modern day satire of Harvard Law School. Based on Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, Two L includes the unmasking of evil deeds, as second year student Megan is forced to defend the undefensible. The satire here is really wicked and funny. For such a short novel the characters, especially her so-called boy friend, are well developed . Of course there is the usual disclaimer that it is totally fictious, but it all rings true. A quick , fun read.
Clearly an early work over stuffed with imagery and oddly placed with words not commonly found in fun fiction, it's okay. Low price for afternoon waiting for sick family member to wake....possible.
Not much else to say.
I downloaded this book to my Kindle because I finished all the current Pink Carnation series. I found the main character engaging, as are all of Willig heroines. The book's subject is important, so as a reminder-of-an-issue-book it was very good. It wasn't, however, the page turner I found in the Pink Carnation series.

It is, worth the time to read this reminder-of-an-issue-book.
This is a very good book. I love lauren willigs writing. I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys her writing.
I like her historical fiction better. This was a little slow and moralisitic, which is fine, but it didn't do a whole lot for me.
I really enjoy ALL of Lauren Willigs books... this one is just as good as the rest!!! pick it up and read!
I am a big fan of the Carnation books, and am looking forward to Ms. Willig's stand alone Ashford Affair. This was a cute, fast read. Kind of the reading equivalent of a mini-chocolate, sweet, delicious, but not very filling.
