Story good but just too many typographical errors. A global edit to remove unnecessary hyphenations would be most welcome. If I could I would ask for my money back because I expect this rather large and repetitive error to be something that just doesn't occur in professional publishing. It seriously detracts from enjoying the reading experience.

I have read the Hornblower and Captain Aburey series and am on book #10 of Bolito. Alexander Kent is an amazing author and like his counterparts brings to life what it was like to fight, live and die in the old British Navy with what seems to be significant accuracy and attention to nautical detail. The heroism of these men who could trade punishing broadsides at close range then grapple and board engaging in bloody hand to hand combat was unfathomable.
Beyond the joy of seeing these saga's unfold, I recommend that Dad's consider reading these books with their sons as the main characters provide outstanding lessons in duty, honor, honesty, hard work, perseverance, leadership and humility. Bolitho is that guy in everything he does and is believable as well.

The Bolitho novels are consistently good. Kent really pays attention to the historical details, and develops characters over many years (although some are tragically and abruptly ended, as you expect in war). These are a great mixture of character insight, naval action, and a taste of life aboard King's ships of the late 1700's - 1800's.

Great series of book. Simply written.......would appeal to high school or Middle school boys...as wall as adults....these ships were very similar to a school, with good guys, bad guys, hero's and bullies, cliques, friends and jerks. A great easy read that has a good plot and good characters that keep it interesting. Very technical about sailing and life aboard these ships in the late 1700's.
