A linguistic prodigy, Douglas Boyd spent his early years in the exciting world of East European espionage. Douglas Boyd certainy knows how to write a good story. Traded back to the West, through the Red Cross, Boyd avoided court martial and imprisonment, and entered the film industry. He worked for the BBC and is now a full time writer. Changing from a sympathetic study of his main characters and creating doubt about the ancillary characters to episodes of high drama and excitement I was kept totally absorbed. Fortunately, I was on holiday and could read it with only minor pauses. I look forward to reading more of Douglas's books.

this book is well written and keeps the reader moving along. i'm so sick of books that make me stall in the middle when i should be dying to turn the page. I wouldn't call this a nail biter but it did keep ,my interest throughout.
A well written and researched piece of writing. Interesting and believable characters and a story full of tension. Most enjoyable.
