Shelve Night Huntress. Book . (The Shadow of Mist). Moon Swept: Otherworld Tales of First Love.

Shelve Night Huntress. by Laurell K. Hamilton. Almost everyone remembers their first love.

Yasmine Galenorn has created a wonderfully rich and exciting world in her "Sisters of the Moon" series. Night Huntress" focuses on Deliliah, the 'Were" D'Artigo sister. The action is non-stop as the story develops and the plot twists are always surprising. This was a great addition to the series, and left me looking forward to what's coming next.

Listened to the audio, narrated by Cassandra Campbell. This story is from Delilah's point of view, dealing with relationship issues with Chase, while fighting off demons. Okay read, one annoyance is how are their wards constantly being gotten through if they are suppose to be so strong.

Author : Yasmine Galenorn. My sister Camille is a wicked good witch who attracts men like honey attracts flies. Menolly's a vampire who's still getting the hang of being undead. And me? I'm Delilah, a werecat who's been marked by the Autumn Lord as one of his Death Maidens. And wouldn't you know it, Karvanak-the demon general who stole the third Spirit Seal-is back. The Hags of Fate enjoy seeing me squirm. First, my boyfriend, Chase, mutters another woman's name in his sleep. Then I discover the Autumn Lord has a very special plan for me.

Part of Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series by Yasmine Galenorn. Lifting the window just enough so I could lean my head out, I peered into the shadows of the backyard. My sister Camille was out for the night. She was staying with her husbands, Morio and Smoky-a fox demon and a dragon, respectively-in the woods near Smoky’s barrow. They were casting yet another spell to bring home one of our own.

This book in series finally started answering some of my questions in this book and wrapped up stuff from the entire series. Yeah!! Pace was decent as usual and for some reason when it is "kittens" POV book she acts so much braver. But its nice to see it was continuing in other books enough for her sisters to see too.

Each book has one sisters POV and we get to see that book from her eyes. Soooo, uniquely interesting to write this way.

You have my attention. Please continue!!

.The sister that has the POV seems extremely different when you understand and see her POV. This book was from the middle sisters point of view and out of all three she is so different when it is her turn to have the POV that you almost don't recognize her as the same person her sisters view her so differently. Very unique way to write the series. Enjoying it a lot! I tried audio with the second and third book and while the narrator did a good job IMO I prefer reading it myself and my imagination going thru the pages. Can't wait to buy the next in series, as soon as I am done with this review, and continue in one of my new favorite series!

The D'Artigo sisters are back for the fifth time with werecat Delilah to tell the story. With four previous stories there's a lot of background that has lead us up to this latest adventure. In short the three sisters have come to Earth from their home in Otherworld, have become Earth's protectors from the demons of the Sub-Realms and made some interesting friends and enemies along the way. Delilah was marked by the Autumn Lord in Changeling. Becoming his only living Death Maiden she has gained the ability to shapeshift not just into her little tabbycat form but into the form of a panther. But having a new form isn't really a gift it's part of her new job. Sending Delilah on a special mission he lets her know he has plans for her, one in particular she may not be sure she is ready for.

Meanwhile, Karvanak, the nasty demon the sisters have faced before, has kidnapped Chase (Delilah's full blooded human boyfriend) to use as a hostage. He wants the fourth Spirit Seal in exchange but there's no way in hell the sisters are willing to risk their homes for the life of one man. It's up to them to find a way to rescue Chase, protect the fourth Seal and destroy Karvanak before the tables get turned.

Bah! I really was hoping for another story I would love as I had the last two. Unfortunately, Night Huntress just fell short in several ways. For one, the storyline direction that the author took with Chase and Delilah's relationship felt unnecessarily random. For fans who have liked their relationship this change may be a disappointment. Once again the author had her characters doing a lot of conflict-meets-instant-solution type plotting which left me frustrated because I enjoy seeing characters struggle to come up with a good plan or needing some outside power to guide them to the right solution. There was a lot of talking when it wasn't suited to the scene and over-description to the point of beating dead horses at times. When there's too much "what should we do?" going on in the middle of a fight it bogs the action down.

While those things definitely frustrated me there were many good parts of the book as well. Carefully sprinkled throughout are important little additions to the story that serve to help the many different sub/side stories move forward. Finding out what's happening with the civil war in OW and hints about Menolly's vampire group strengthen to plot of the series. The list of secondary characters in this series has gotten a bit overloaded (in my opinion) but again some of those serve important purposes.

Night Huntress is definitely not my favorite of the series so far but it was by no means awful.

The sisters are doing well they just captured the fourth spirit seal and Delilah has learned quite a few things I hope for their future I'm glad they have allies they need is many as they can get because the demons are bad news
The Rollers of Vildar
This book focuses on one of the three sisters in this case Delilah the were cat. But there are a lot more characters here and they are better and more completely drawn.

The plot of these books was fixed in the first; the sisters have to find and acquire the 9 seals before the demons do. If the demons get enough off them they can destabilize the worlds that this story is set in or references and over run them all--major not good. But the increasingly complex sub plots make the stories interesting in their own right.

There is a fair amount of humor as the Bruce Lee scene with Delilah where she pokes a hole in the baddy and gets her spike heal (and foot) caught. There is also some nice send up purple prose in some of the erotic scenes which overall are well done.

But there are various persistent errors. Like the dagger spurting blood around the point; Delilah just threw it through the baddy and can't see the point. Another annoyance is the group standing around yakking when they realize that the baddies are there and know that they are there and that they know that each other knows ad nausea.

Overall a more than very good read but with some warts which may or may not annoy you. The author is definitely improving as more characters are real and not spear carriers.

I am really enjoying this series. The language is simple but the imagery is exceptional. I especially enjoy the fae faerie aspects of this fantasy world. Not a fantasy series for everybody, but I recommend you give it a try because you might be surprised. The shift of narratives between the books is noticeably and Yasmine does an excellent job of making you believe it is from a different point of view. The points highlighted in each narrative are different and do a great job driving home the differences between the sisters.
Loved it!❤️????????????????
