What a wonderful book. I enjoyed every word. I grew up in the Peterborough area and recognized many of the places. I kind of guessed the Lindsay part. I really enjoyed the characters Rowena and her son Kier. The Irish descendants www amazing. I look forward to reading more novel s by this talented Canadian author, Gabriiele Wills. Thank you.

Again this is a family story with a good deal of the effects of war on those left behind as well as those who fought in it.

Good book except for the use of the f word. In my opinion it was totally unnecessary. Other than that I would have given a better review.

I am a predominantly non-fiction reader. I got this book because it takes place in an area I'm familiar with. I was spellbound. The story is cohesive, the characters real and complex, and the twists and turns made me dizzy. I recommended it to my wife (an obsessive reader of high quality novels). She reluctantly agreed to read it and is now insisting that I get the other books of Gabriele! She said it was as good as historical novels get.
