Ross's unusually mature and single-minded fourteen-year-old daughter Mattie travels to claim his body, and finds that the authorities are doing nothing to find Chaney. Then she hears of Rooster – a man, she's told, who has grit – and convinces him to join her in a quest into dark, dangerous Indian territory to hunt Chaney down and avenge her father's murder.

Married To a Married Man: is the tale of a love romance that never should have happen. Right after completing graduate school at Harvard University, Kayla Brown relocates with her son to Houston Texas and settles into a new career. After failing the dating scene she gives up on romance and opts to focus on her career and raising her son, until one day when she collapses at the gym and is carried off her feet by a handsome mystery man. When she later finds out that the mystery man is one of the most powerful executives at the corporation that she consults for, she embarks on a mission using her beauty, and their mutual attraction as a step-ladder for her climb-up the corporate ladder. However, falling in love with the married executive was never part of her plan, and months turn into years of being his mistress and leads to an emotional rollercoaster ride of up¿s and down¿s that she had never expected. Married To a Married Man is a story that every woman has wondered about or knows someone involved in an affair with a married man.

The characters sucked. I thought they were all stupid/ jerks.... Kayla had to have been the stupidest out of them all... The nerve of her thinking that dean, would suddenly dump his wife for her even though she knew what it was 10 years ago! She chosed to stay... I think Kayla needed some psychiatric help--she's supposedly this beautiful, smart vibrant savage business woman but her character didn't reflect any of these things.... She seemed desperate..., I thought the story was super slow-it didn't start getting ok until towards the end and even then it was weak. Deans wife is just as sad as Kayla--if not sadder------ I would've just divorced the loser and take half his s***---but hey that's just me... I'm unclear as to what genre this title would be under--it can't possibly be romance seeing as how there wasn't a damn thing romantic about this story. The ending was just---blah! Typical. The author failed to address what I'm sure all my fellow readers as we'll as myself were wondering------what happened to Irene?! Tammy being there around Kayla's fiancé is so typical and predictable.... No I won't be recommending to my friends---why subject them to the torture? I didn't like the story... These women were just sad excuses for humans, they allowed a man to steal their happiness and joy without a fight. Dean was happy with the status quo so why should he change it after 10 years? The wife knew he was a serial cheater and stayed until the love was just about GONE out the marriage her behavior during the hospital visit was clear that she hasn't loved dean in YEARS--yet she stayed... Her reasoning for doing so made absolutely no sense...I didn't like nor felt sorry for ANY of the characters and some of the characters weren't really necessary for the story. Didn't quite get their purpose for being there other than to take up dead empty space on the page. I hate stories that starts off slow and you think it'll get good in the middle but instead you're just left with disappointment and a wasted hour.

Nathanial Portis brings us a topic that's not deliberated or examined in the literary world. A topic that's actually Taboo, yet so many people are engaging in this activity.

Dean and Renee started off as a struggling married couple, oftentimes they didn't know where their next meal was coming from, how the bills were going to get paid, nor how they were going to manage from one month to another. Working hard to keep her family afloat Renee continues to encourage Dean to strive and work hard. One day at a dead end job, he meets one man that will not only give Dean his first big break into the working world but also the drive to want to become his own boss.

Years later Dean is exactly where he wants to be CEO of Sitrop Corporations and has everything at his disposal, but on his way up the corporate ladder, he begins to neglect his marriage, lack of attention, a new attitude, and being consumed with his company drives his wife, Irene, to drink which turns Dean off. Than one evening while playing basketball, he meets the beautiful Kayla Brown, smart, witty, and athletic; the attraction between them is strong! Soon Kayla finds herself sleeping with Dean and what should've been a onetime affair turns into a full-fledge relationship between the two. Kayla begins to experience the benefits of being Dean's woman and mistakenly falls in love with him and takes on the role of being his mistress, agreeing to his terms `You'll have to be second...' Kayla ends up staying with Dean for 9-10 years. What happens when Kayla becomes tired of having the title of Mistress/Girlfriend? Will Dean leave his wife?

Nathanial give readers the opportunity to look through the eyes of the husband, wife, and mistress while each party tries to get figure out exactly where they fit in the triangle of love.

I hated everything in this book about Kayla, except that she had a son. She played the role of side chick and then got mad and wanted to wreck the life of everyone else. She put herself in the position she played with Dean. And then wanted to throw a pity party when she got attached to his deep pockets and lifestyle. I HATED HER WHINNY CHARACTER AND HER WEAK AND STUPID BEHAVIOR. THIS BOOK WAS LONG AND DRAWN OUT, BUT IF YOU CAN STAND TO READ ABOUT AN EDUCATED SLUT THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. KAYLA HAD A LOT GOING ON FOR HERSELF, EXCEPT SELF ESTEEM. I CAN SEE WHY HER SISTERS DIDN'T LIKE HER, SHE DIDN'T DESERVE THEIR LOVE AND RESPECT WHEN SHE DIDN'T EVEN LOVE HER DAMN SELF. HER SON WAS THE ONE TRUE VICTIM IN THIS STORY AND I WISHED HER FATHER HAD NOT RETURNED HIM TO HER AND FOUGHT TO KEEP THE BOY. IRENE WAS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN THE WHOLE BOOK AND I LOVE WHEN SHE TOOK CONTROL OF HER LIFE AND DECIDED SHE WOULD LIVE FOR HERSELF. TAMARA WAS STRONG AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT SHE HAS IN STORE FOR HER FATHERS EX. WHEN IRENE REALIZED HER SELF WORTH, SHE WAS THE EYE OF THE STORM. I HOPE KAYLA GET'S WHAT SHE HAS COMING TO HER IN THE NEXT PART OF THEIR SAGA. I HATE KAYLA AND WISH SHE WILL GET TO FEEL THE WRATH OF IRENE AND TAMARA, IRENE WARNED HER SHE OUT OF HER LEAGUE, BUT SHE DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE UP THE MONEY, JETS, SHOPPING SPREES, VACATIONS, BIG HOUSE AND SOMEONE ELSE'S HUSBAND. WHY SHOULD SHE HAVE A HAPPY EVER AFTER....
