Linda Lay Shuler (1910–2011) was a brilliant, creative, ambitious woman born before her time. I fell in love with the story of Kwani in book one and remained thoroughly entranced with every page of Voice of the Eagle.

Linda Lay Shuler (1910–2011) was a brilliant, creative, ambitious woman born before her time. She wrote and produced for radio in the days women were expected to stay at home, receiving awards against conglomerate giants. Television was a new medium at the time, and she jumped right into it, writing, producing, and directing travel documentaries for the Texas Highway Department, writing and producing a traffic courtroom series, and establishing radio/TV workshops.

In VOICE OF THE EAGLE, Linda Lay Shuler continues her Time Circle Quartet as Kwani, "She Who Remembers," her mate Tolonqua and their newborn son begin their trek . I really enjoyed this book by Linda Lay Shuler.

In VOICE OF THE EAGLE, Linda Lay Shuler continues her Time Circle Quartet as Kwani, "She Who Remembers," her mate Tolonqua and their newborn son begin their trek to Cicuye, Tolonqua's home. Cicuye is a pueblo city, an outpost where desert canyons meet the verdant buffalo range. Danger lurks there, for marauding tribes prey on the village with savage ferocity. I have looked for other books by her in the second hand book stores but haven't found any. If you liked Clan of the Cave Bear you'll love this book and even if you haven't read Clan of the Cave Bear you may love this book because it is a lighter story.

by. Shuler, Linda Lay. Publication date. New York : W. Morrow.

Linda Lay Shuler is a masterful writer. Her characters live in your mind. A continuation of the story "She Who Remembers". Another great book by Linda Lay Shuler. Reading her books, are like watching a movie. She's right up there with Jean M Auel, for making ancient history come alive again. The writing is vivid.

I truly enjoy a well written and well researched historical novel. I have loved learning about history since high school and the good historical story brings it to life again. Linda Lay Shuler is a masterful writer. Her characters live in your mind. She's right up there with Jean M Auel, for making ancient history come alive again. We'll never really know exactly what happened in those bygone years, but this series gives an interesting and exciting possibility. Enjoy!

Some areas of the novel are detail heavy. I found myself skipping past the laborious descriptions of trees, valleys, and architecture to get the story moving.

While the skipping over part may lead to a negative impression, the overall plot and complexity of character development make it worth the wait. I got the first book through the Kindle Daily Deal app. (Cheap book, indians, sounds great!) I fell in love wtih the rich history and the fictional story interlaced throughout the book. Almost immediately, I did what I almost never do - paid the regular posted price for the ebook download of the next two novels!

The story drags you into the rich and intricate culture a lost people. I will reread them again.

This was the best book I have read in many years. It drew me in to the Indian world and I laughed with them, I cried with them and felt like I was actually there living with their village and families. Thank yo so much for this beautifully written account of the struggles and joy of the Indian world and culture. I will be searching for more of your books. Thank you for this one.

These books (there are 3) were written quite some time ago, by a woman who is now gone. Her storytelling ability and insight into former Indian tribes and their way of life are captivating. I never knew until now about the Indian mounds in Arkansas, check that out online, some of the artifacts found (including the necklace) are shown and just amazing stuff. If you start one book, you MUST read all 3.

I have put this book down several times. Not sure I will get around finishing it. The plot seems to be to predictable at this point.

A fascinating historical series which I found extremely interesting-very hard to put down once I stated reading. I am looking forward to the next one
Book 2 if the saga of Pueblo Indians was just as powerful as the first book. I can't wait to start book three. As worth the Jean Auel series, I couldn't put the books down but was sad when I read them all.
