This isn't the usual Louisa May Alcott story, and I didn't enjoy reading it.

Terrifyingly good. Use of words that put reader smack in the middle of the scene. Gut wrenches with descriptions. Very good

Try as I might, I could not follow this story line. It seemed to me it was all out of order. I was real disapppointed in this one. Can't recommend it.

I love the contrast of the flowery prose as opposed to the dark melodrama involved in the love story of the four characters. Louisa May Alcott certainly shows us another side of her storytelling in this book. As a huge Little Women fan I was pleasantly surprised; I think I like it!

N , Seattle : well written, but none the less a morality play. Perhaps, the least interesting piece I have read of L. A. Alcott's to date. Still, this important as an example of her writing for the moral betterment of men and women.
