For the politician, see John Silkin. Jon Silkin (2 December 1930 – 25 November 1997) was a British poet. Jon Silkin was born in London, in a Jewish immigrant family and named after Jon Forsyte in The Forsyte Saga, and attended Wycliffe College and Dulwich College During the Second World War he was one of the children evacuated from London (in his case, to Wales); he remembered that he "roamed the countryside incessantly" while in Wales, collecting.

The John Glover House is a historic house at 53 Echo Valley Road in Newtown, Connecticut. It is a 2-1/2 story wood frame structure, clad in wooden shingles, with a side gable roof and a large central chimney. A series of additions extend from the rear of the house. The oldest portion was built c. 1708 by John Glover, who purchased the land from one of the first proprietors of the then-new township, established in 1705 The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
