The owner of a multimillion-dollar multimedia firm, Madison Tyler enjoys her no-strings attached relationship with Granville Washington, but when she tries to break things off, he refuses to let her go and will do whatever it takes to make her see that he is the perfect man for her. (general fiction).
I personally think the storyline in the book wasn't realistic at all. The fact that Madison agreed to mess around with a well known psychopath, not to add in that she's an engaged woman while agreeing to to mess around with the psychopath (who her friend has been having serious reoccurring stalking problems with ..oh!,and SLEEPING WITH). And ladies, let's be honest real quick. if it was that EASY for a d**k to slide in a woman's a** while on top, every woman will be doing anal...let's get to the part when Granville rented the limousines for Madison wedding. NOT REALISTIC. The things she says to her "friends" ,the way she go about sleeping with a psychopath, not to mention how she didn't panic about the tape being missing. ..I. Can seriously go on and on, but instead I'm going to just hit the "submit" button
let me start by saying I read this months ago so my memory of it is a little shaky !

this was an enjoyable book . it has enough drama , sex , and an interesting storyline to keep my interest . the characters hoever were not likable . Madison ? I couldn't stand her ! for starters she cheats on her fiance so we never truly know whose baby she was carrying . she gets a terminal illness but refuses medical help ?? but she acts all surprised when the outcome with Granville turned out to be exactly what her home girl Loretta warned her about . Loretta was no angel either ? Granville was ... well he was .. crazy ! what kind of friend would set her friend up for that kind of mess ?! lol !! like I said it was enjoyable as far as the drama aspect ! I feel the author hit right on with the stalker man going after the woman he thinks is his because Granville was a nightmare !! Loretta and Madison's fiance being prayer buddies ?? ok ? the ending ? omg . the things women will do for money !!

overall I did like the book but I took away a star for the cliffhanger ending ! (i originally voted this 4 stars) . I turned the page after the ending thinking and hoping there was more . I was a little ticked . I hate cliffhangers ! if you like them then by all means this is the book for you !!
This story immediately draws you in and strays from bias by allowing us to see into the mind of the 4 main characters (Granville, Chicago, Madison, and Loretta). This story takes you on a journey. More importantly, the women and men are very relate-able. Loretta is probably the most relate-able. She's not model size or has some fairy-tale exaggerated body. She's your run of the mill single mom with stretch marks. Her child's father made her promise after promise only to leave her for a pageant winner. As much as Loretta wants to hate him, she's torn between wanting the family she always dreamed of having with him, serving the Lord (although she falls weak sometimes) and trusting Him to send her a good man, and sorting her feelings for Chicago and his brother Chaz. Madison is also relate-able (and hate-able) in being the know-it-all diva of the group. She looks down on her friends' decisions and believes she has it all together until a bet about Granville may disrupt her engagement to Chicago. As the story progresses, we begin to feel sympathy for Madison as we're introduced to her callous father and family history. This is a great book. I gave it 4 stars, because the ending gets really wild and unbelievable.
Mary B. Morrison is back with a whole new cast of characters. If I Can't Have You is the story of a guy who takes crazy obsession to another level. A bet between Loretta and Madison ends up being the worst idea they have had. After one night with Madison, Granville can't seem to let her go. He is determined to have his woman by his side forever and have her hand in marriage. Loretta is just looking for a man to call her own. She is determined not to be alone forever with her young daughter. While Madison is working on getting away from Granville, she must make sure that she keeps all this hidden from her fiancée Chicago. At what lengths will Granville go to keep Madison with him?

Like most Mary B. Morrison books, I greatly enjoyed this one and the drama that the characters went through. I will say that Loretta's desperation was really starting to get on my nerves as the book went on. I just wanted her to be happy as a single person. I also was quite annoyed with Madison from beginning to end. She reminds you of one of those people that makes sure to surround themselves with people they believe are beneath them. I am disappointed that there will be a sequel. I wish she would have wrapped it up in one book.

If I can't have you was my first read my Ms. Morrison, the novel has so many great reviews I had to read it for myself. The novel starts off with the three ladies Loretta, Tisha and the most interesting character Madison. The Amber Rose look a like Madison is proposed to by her handsome, rich and God fearing man Roosevelt/Chicago. The bet between Loretta and Madison is made to get rid of the stalking, cowboy boot wearing Granville with seduction.

However, these ladies must have forgot that Granville is CrAzY!! And their little bet ends up in disaster. I'm jumping ahead of myself in thir review, Loretta is God fearing and Madison is man eater, Tisha ... well she is rarely talked about in this novel, however, her charater is somewhat of a B chharacter.

The novel was interesting! Granville was crazy yet he and Madison character were the most entertaining. I'm reading part 2 of this book now and I'm shocked at how Ms. Morrison total changed Loretta's charater and also drastically changed the storyline. I'm still reading part 2 and I heard there is a part 3 in the works.
