Conard County Conard County: The Next Generation I really enjoyed this book. There was a lot suspense to the story, and the romance was sweet.

Conard County Conard County: The Next Generation setting. Wyoming (United States). My God! This book was so damn boring! It was such a short book but still I skimmed more than half of the book. I really enjoyed this book. The villains were some of the worst villains I have ever read about. Murder to them was a game of hunting. I thought they were really sick men.

I'm so glad Rachel has returned to Conard County, and this book is a reason why. Rachel draws such a powerful picture of the idyllic small town. I love her characters and the great variety of stories Rachel tells. Not Rachel! She loves to work with new ideas and different story lines, and I'm always excited to read her next novel.

A Soldier in Conard County. The Widow of Conard County. Harlequin Romantic Suspense March 2018 Box Set.

I've read most of Rachel Lee's Conard County books. Amazing how smart dogs are and what they understand. This one was OK, it dragged a little and there was too much inner angst for both of the main characters.

Undercover in Conard County by Lee, Rachel. I really like Rachel Lee's books, and this one was more suspenseful than most with hidden motives, multiple threats as well as the emotional complexity of Kel and Desi's roles. One person found this helpful.

Books by Rachel Lee. Harlequin Intrigue. Conard County: The Next Generation. Cornered in Conard County. Harlequin Romantic Suspense. Undercover in Conard County. Conard County Marine. Such a soothing scene, Dory thought as she rubbed the ginger cat’s cheeks and elicited a surprisingly loud purr. Her relaxation deepened, and she thought that maybe she’d better get a cat herself.

Rachel Lee was hooked on writing by the age of twelve, and practiced her craft as she moved from place to place all over the United States. This New York Times bestselling author now resides in Florida and has the joy of writing full-time.

Yes, this is a biased review because I am huge fan of Rachel Lee and her much beloved Conard County series of Western Romance contemporary romance novels. Protector of One, don't laugh too hard over the cover the illustration which shows our heroine, a local English teacher, in a little skimpy T-Shirt and the adoring arms of a Cowboy Hat wearing hero. Well, um, the story is set in the middle of a freezing cold Autumn-Winter snow storm and icicles. I just giggle over covers like that.

I was so glad to have Rachel give us romance reading fans more from Conard County. Devoted fans like myself might be expecting to have some coffee and big portion breakfast scenes at "Maude's" Diner. Not a lot of those "familiar" character scenes happened in this story, which depending on your own taste will be a turn on or a turn off. However, there were a few of the familiar Conard County police whom we know and love, including Nate Tate, Gage and Emmaline Dalton, and Sara Ironheart.

An interesting direction that Rachel did go was with exploring some "ESP", Hunches, Paranormal, and Psychic powers. She treated it as perfectly normal and explored more about the curse, pain, and responsibility of having them more than trying to explain them. This all because our heroine, Kerry "Ms. Tommy" Tomlinson, is left with psychic abilities after a freak car accident as a teenager.

This is definitely a story as labeled. It is a Harlequin Silhouette Romantic Suspense novel. Please read, a fairly action packed, action driven plot while there is romance as well. It wasn't quite as dramatic as being thrown into an Indiana Jones action movie, but it was so action packed I actually stayed up until 1:35 am to finish reading it all in one day, I was so captivated by it.

The plot premise is that our heroine's psychic abilities make her the only "witness" to a triple murder and she must be protected. Adrian Goddard is chosen to do so. He an ex-agent and former Marine with.... (yes, we are romance novel fans) a past. His particular past gives him a power drive to protect her and he finds himself from the start of meeting her at the police station, attracted to her. He has to protect her, however, the killers are stalkers, and Kerry has become the next target. The plot certainly has some suspenseful twists and turns which I won't ruin for you by going into.

Ms. Lee fills her stories and this small Western town with richly drawn complex characters making it not only a fun romance to read but also a really well-written book to read.

The denouement happens rather quickly which may or may not be your taste. I love the suspense aspect but an more driven by the romance plot, so I was delighted with the book. Rachel even has planted some seeds for the prospect of more Conard County "The Next Generation" books, so fans like myself have some hope of even more Conard County romances.

Highly recommend

I really enjoyed this book. There was a lot suspense to the story, and the romance was sweet. The villains were some of the worst villains I have ever read about. Murder to them was a game of hunting. I thought they were really sick men.

Kerry our heroine is an English teacher. She is left with psychic abilities after a freak car accident as a teenager. Her dreams or premonitions was never for important issuers until recently. She woke up in a cold sweat after her dream of two lady's being shot at. She went to the police to let them know about her dream. They had never used a physic before, so they were hesitant until Kerry described the crime scene to the letter. Kerry became the next target, and Adrian was there to protect her. I loved the way Rachel had them meet as strangers, and wrote a lovely story of Adrian, and Kerry's friendship growing during a very stressful situation.

Sample from book:
"Kerry, we have to be sensible about this. I'm not going to dangle you out there like a judas goat." "But that's what I am. Or shall I should be." She leaned back against the cushions, closing her eyes. "I'm not afraid of dying." "No," Adrian said. "Has it occurred to you that I might be afraid of losing you?" "Adrian" She couldn't bring herself to open her eyes. Her heart seemed to stop midbeat, and the breath sailed out of her. "Just don't argue with me, Kerry. Just don't argue. I know you're bait. But none of us, me most especially, is willing to risk you recklessly. You've got to understand that."

Haven't read about Conard County in a while. Glad to see that Ms. Lee has not lost her touch for nail biting suspense! Very enjoyable and riveting story.

Well it was ok, I like the ESP angle and it did give suspense which I liked. But I wanted more romance and if there had been I would have enjoyed it more.

I'm so glad Rachel has returned to Conard County, and this book is a reason why. Rachel draws such a powerful picture of the idyllic small town. I love her characters and the great variety of stories Rachel tells. Often authors write cookie cutters of their best novels, trying to draw upon previous success. Not Rachel! She loves to work with new ideas and different story lines, and I'm always excited to read her next novel.

If you love series romance, you'll love Conard County.

The story was good. I thought the ending was fast and didn't explain the killers' reasoning.
