We argue that the associated notions of translation correctness cannot cope adequately with practical questions like optimizations and finiteness of machines.

Periodical Literature on Teaching the Classics in Translation, 1924-1975: An Annotated Bibliography. We argue that the associated notions of translation correctness cannot cope adequately with practical questions like optimizations and finiteness of machines. As a step towards a solution we propose more fine-grained correctness notions, which are parameterized in sets of acceptable. failure outcomes, and study a corresponding family of predicate transformers that generalize the well-known wp and wlp transformers.

The Chinese medicine history scholars Paul Unschuld, Hermann Tessenow and their team at the Institute for the History of Medicine at Munich University have translated the Neijing Suwen into English, including an analysis of the historical and structural layers of the Suwen. This work was published by the University Of California Press in July, 2011. Unschuld, Paul U. (2003).

A foundation of Chinese life sciences and medicine, the Huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen is now available for the first time in a complete, fully annotated English translation. Also known as Su Wen, or The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic, this influential work came into being over a long period reaching from the 2nd century bce to the 8th century ce. Combining the views of different schools, it relies exclusively on natural law as conceptualized in yin/yang and Five Agents doctrines to define health and disease, and repeatedly emphasizes personal responsibility for the length and quality of one’s life. This two-volume edition includes excerpts from all the major commentaries on the Su Wen, and extensive annotation drawn from hundreds of monographs and articles by Chinese and Japanese authors produced over the past 1600 years and into the twentieth century.
Clever
unschuld's extensive and thoughtful annotation give a western reader the possibility of understanding nuances and ambiguities that other translations do not capture
Mr.Savik
For all practitioners who use alternative medicine or are interested in exploring the alternative way. This is the most important book out.

The two volumes are in very good conditions and the commentaries of the editor very interesting. Everything OK.
I love Mercedes
Having known Professor Unschuld and his colleague Tussenow, I have been waiting twelve years for this unique translation of the Huangdi Neijing Suwen. I know hope to see more studies about the studies by Tussenow about the numerous pieces and bricks qui have been assembled to form the Suwen... Nonetheless, this translation is a real masterpiece of intimate knowledge of Chinese medecine during the Antiquity.
Thak you very much Professor Unschulf for having led such a team, with the financial help of a generous sponsor. This translation is the forts having rendered the Chinese rimed and rythmed sentenses by -technically - English verses.
If one wants to buy a translation of this Bible of Chinese medicine, one must buy this one!
Celace
expensive but necessary if you're studying the classics of Chinese medicine
Mr.Death
The translation is probably very accurate...but the terminology chosen makes it hardly readable most of the time. Also, the Chinese script is unfortunately not included in the text...that's the biggest drawback here! People interested in an exacting translation will also be interested in seeing the Chinese script side by side to gain a more complete understanding for themselves.

Otherwise, it's nice to have to compare with other versions of the Nei Jing for a more complete understanding. The books kind of resemble old style bibles, and there are two of them in a case.
