During the summers of 1963-68, a team lead by David S Neal systematically excavated a villa in Roman design dated to AD 138-161. Original sections identified included a huge swimming pool and numerous heating rooms.

This report describes the history of a villa from its simple beginnings in the first century AD to its heydayin the 4th century when the owner could boast one of the largest villa bath houses and a bathing pool comparable in size to the Great Bath at Bath.
