This play is dedicated to my mother and father, Charles and Eleanore Lucas. Prelude to a Kiss opened on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theater on May 1, 1990. It was produced by Christopher Gould, Suzanne Golden and Dodger Productions. Prelude to a Kiss was commissioned by South Coast Repertory (David Emmes, Producing Artistic Director; Martin Benson, Artistic Director) in Costa Mesa, California, where it premiered on January 15, 1988.
