Veterinary Office Practice provides an inside look at the role and duties of the veterinary assistant in an animal hospital or private veterinary practice. Students will benefit from three main focuses of the text including the assistant's responsibilities, the importance of interpersonal communication skills with clients and co-workers, and how the billing and payments system works. By gaining perspective about the entire veterinary health care team, as well the details that keep the practice operating smoothly, readers will come away with a thorough understanding of the contribution they can make as a veterinary office assistant. In addition to providing students with a strong knowledge base on the subject, the author offers students and teachers additional instructional material to clarify the purpose of the information. Included are classroom exercises to encourage discussion of practice concepts, clear objectives and easy-to-grasp concepts as well as test bank questions and answers. As an added information resource, each chapter contains recommended Web sites with related information and interactive tools.

This textbook is not so exciting and told me a lot of things that I have known already for years. In that way, it is a great book for making sure anyone entering the field gets a good grip of how an animal hospital is like and not like other work environments.

I especially liked the chapter about what computers are.

I had to purchase this book for use in a class, though I would not have purchased it otherwise. There are a few useful facts, but many pieces of information are now outdated, such as the chapter on computers and office software. The book talks about floppy disks! Most of my other vet tech textbooks cover the useful information adequately.
MOQ
shipped on time for my class. was in good shape and good price for the amount of time it was used

I did not personally choose this book; it was required in my class. But it is very informative & well-written.
Worla
I had to get this book for school. A lot of the information is very common sense & waste of time to read. My "favorite" is a photo of a fax machine.. and them describing how as a manager you may be required to fix things like - the fax machine!
