This look at Social Science Theory is required reading for many majors. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to work in any one of the sub disciplines of social science; political science, economics, anthropology, psychology, sociology, and geography. Really, though, I basically just summed up the whole book. I guess what I really recommend is buying a textbook on any one of those disciplines aforementioned!

I found the reading of this book to be somewhat hellish, as the author, David Colander, makes analogies that are hard to understand and quite lengthy. He also uses language that is odd at best. Putting it kindly, it's hard to follow at times.

Although some elements were interesting, I found some of the claims to be off putting for someone of my worldview. I purchased this book for school, but the edition I had was already older.
Vijora
The book was okay, just not entirely clear on some of the definitions and explanations on some topics.
Lucam
Useful for class of course.
TheJonnyTest
This book gets right to the point. It's very easy to read even, for a subject like sociology. I am very happy with this book. This book however, does change from one edition to another. My professor was using an older edition and some of the key terms she discussed were not in my book. The chapter placement also changes.
