Raymond John Robinson (8 July 1905 – 6 July 1982) was an Australian journalist and author, best known for his writings on cricket. Born in Melbourne, Robinson attended Brighton State School and joined the Melbourne Herald as a copyboy. Given a cadetship with the paper, he reported on Australian football and cricket during the early 1920s. Adelaide: Wakefield Press.

He began writing about sport in the 1920s with the Melbourne paper The Herald, and started submitting regular pieces to the English based The Cricketer magazine in 1925.

Ray Robinson (cricket writer). Raymond John Robinson (8 July 1905 – 6 July 1982) was an Australian journalist and author, best known for his writings on cricket. He published his first cricket book, Between Wickets, in 1946 after the manuscript was recommended to the William Collins publishing house by Neville Cardus. He retired as a full-time journalist in 1970 and published The Wildest Tests two years later.
