While there may be some conceptual truths that endure, I could not get past how outdated this text is. Perhaps a newer version is in the works? Bought for class as it was a requirement. Only reason I would consider buying this is if I had to buy.

This book should be in every financial planner's library whether you are just starting out or a seasoned practitioner. I couldn't find anything missing. Bruckenstein and Drucker cover all the bases of running a financial planning practice from setting up an office to selling your practice.

It is a complete reference manual for running a practice, thoroughly discussing everything to do with the office (hardware and software, security, paperless office, etc,) as well as setting up a business model, getting and retaining clients, E&O insurance, ethics and even time management.

One of my favorite parts is at the end of each and every one of the 39 chapters there is a section entitled "Where can I find out more about it?"

This is definitely an outstanding practice management resource guide.
