Content aside, I was extremely disappointed with the actual book that I received for two reasons.
Specifically, as is customary in an art book of this nature, I was expecting the pictures of Miro's artwork to be in color. All pictures were in black and white. I compare this to a book I ordered at the same time about Gustave Baumann. All illustrations were in color.
Second, the print size was somewhere in the 11 point range, i.e., very small. That's fine if one is one has young eyes.
With reprints of this nature, I have come to expect lower quality. This book didn't even hit that bar.

This is a small book, a retrospective from a show. Unfortunately, it has paintings I've seen other places, not too many of them, and the photos are smallish. Not bad, but not brilliant. I enjoyed the read, but not enough to encourage me to want more.

A lovely book and we'd recommend it to anyone interested in painting.

FYI "Joan" is a man's name in Catalonia (bi-lingual section of Spain), and is pronounced in a combination of Juan and Jean...more-or-less like "Zhoun." The "o" is stressed and the "a" is more of a schwa. We visited the Miro Museum last year. Lovely drawings...and it is interesting to "see" an artist slowly change his style.

Perfect book for someone who enjoys the artists work but only needs a little background on the artist. I got this as a gift and the person loved it.
This book is one in a series of books about an artist. You can buy the whole artist series or just one book about the artist you love. I have seen this series of books on these artists and others, Picasso, Monet, Seurat and others.

A good collection of Miro's opinions, sprinkled with a few original writings. I personally hoped for more writing/poetry and less interviews/letters. The collection was mostly compiled by Miro chronologically, and those familiar with his life will probably get more out of the interviews and letters than I. His poetry however more than makes up for the rest and is reminiscent of Dali's "Oui," which I highly recommend.

Each one a treasure & a few pleasant surprises, too. I love Miro's later work. I keep most of these for myself. I just love having a piece of great art just for me -- at my poverty-level price tag!!! Thank you!

Great book on Miro. I loved it.
