It's an odd combination, this book. On one side, the author gives an remarkably detailed insight into the lives of Robbie, Gary and the wider world of Take That. I don't know what's fact and what's fiction there but the author certainly reads as very credible, making it a terrific read. On the other hand, he seems to regard most of Robbie's well-respected and hugely successful albums as low-quality disappointments, with a similar view on Gary's work. After reading that in chapter after chapter, you wonder how the author rated them enough to write about them.
