Lots of patriotic songs here, thanks to WWI. I really enjoyed the schtick of "Oh! How I Hate To Get Up In The Morning" - that's my life! "Melancholy Baby" has to be my favorite though; it's gorgeous and very singable. Here's the full list of songs:

This is the only music sheet book for 1910s music I was able to find that is for piano/vocal. Many music sheets from this era are for the chord organ, which is no longer popular today. I bought this for my husband who recently restarted playing piano. He wanted something fun and cheerful to play, along Jeeves & Wooster lines, and not just hard classical music. These songs are perfect - you can sing along and the music is not too difficult. It is also not however, an EZ version that the Hal Leonard company also publishes. Furthermore, from what I can tell on the Hal website, there is no 1910s "Essential Songs Series" version of the Decade books. If you're planning to buy the 1920s or other decades, you might want to check out both the "Songs of the 1920s: The Decade Series" and the "Essential Songs of the 1920s Series" to compare which songs you like better. The Essential series tends to have around 100 songs, the Decade around 50 or so. The difference is that the Decade series actually starts off with some historical commentary on the decade, the popular music trends, pictures, etc. The Essential series does not have this. Please note that the Decade commentary is very American focused, and so are some of the songs. However, most popular songs made it to both sides of the Atlantic, so the song content is probably not that much of an issue if you're European. In terms of content, the songs in the Decade and Essential songs overlap to an extent, but not a huge one. In fact, the Decade series tends to have a lot of stuff not in the Essential series. So you might want to buy the two books for each Decade.
Poor quality reproduction of original
Sheet music but some great music. Probably not for a beginner.
A good variety of music from the 1910s to barbershop standards, ragtime, and early blues. Of course it has the nice historical introduction, and songs are arranged pretty well for intermediate piano. There aren't many books around covering this early time period of music so this book has many hard to find songs, overall good for the price.
Bought this book for a piano player to use at a Downton Abbey tea. I couldn't believe how nice this was for the price. Loaded with music and very large and easy to read. Highly recommended.
What a lot of wonderful songs turn out to have been hits, rather than folksongs! Many of these items have always seemed to have originated before there was any popular music. The selection and arrangements are very good,
nice products. My wife likes the music.
These were shipped very quickly.
It is the must for all musicians on the roots of modern music today
