I love Stoddard's vibrant, colorful work and he reveals his secret to achieving this look. Joseph's use of color and high chroma is gutsy. His work is impressive and definitely catches your eye. I love his stuff. He has several other books out there, all worth getting.

I really have no words to express how helpful this book has been to me... It shows you how to paint an expressive watercolor painting - I don't think he leaves anything out. From the colors and brand of paint he uses, to value, to step-by-step illustrations of paintings. It's well written and easy to understand. I can't imagine how it could be better.

This book was recommended by my art teacher. The artist's techniques are intriguing and result in bright and interesting paintings, even from a rank amateur. It's a small book but worth the money.

This book was a welcome addition to my library. It is loaded with helpful tips on achieving excellent and beautiful color.

Not a bad book, but I never reach for it. If you need to be taught freedom with color, maybe this is good. It wasn't inspirational for me, and didn't teach me enough tips and I am about two years into learning watercolor. But it is not a BAD book.... passing it on.
