Distinguished author, Holocaust survivor, and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Each of the five hold secrets that could damn them in the eyes of "the Judge".

And in a substantive new preface, Elie reflects on the enduring importance of Night and his lifelong, passionate dedication to ensuring that the world never forgets man's capacity for inhumanity to man.

Elie Wiesel (/ˈɛli ˌviːˈzɛl/, born Eliezer Wiesel Hebrew: אֱלִיעֶזֶר וִיזֶל‎ ʾĔlîʿezer Vîzel; September 30, 1928 – July 2, 2016) was a Romanian-born American writer, professor, political activist, Nobel laureate, and Holocaust survivor

Elie Wiesel (/ˈɛli ˌviːˈzɛl/, born Eliezer Wiesel Hebrew: אֱלִיעֶזֶר וִיזֶל‎ ʾĔlîʿezer Vîzel; September 30, 1928 – July 2, 2016) was a Romanian-born American writer, professor, political activist, Nobel laureate, and Holocaust survivor. He authored 57 books, written mostly in French and English, including Night, a work based on his experiences as a Jewish prisoner in the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps.

ELIE WIESEL was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. This portion has a farcical element that is quite different from the rest of the book (Wiesel undoubtedly meant to ridicule the superstitious prejudices of the hypocritical "Christian" anti-Semites of his pre-war life). The author of more than fifty internationally acclaimed works of fiction and nonfiction, he was Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities and University Professor at Boston University for forty years. Disguised as a deaf mute, Gregor becomes privy to the village's darkest secrets.

Elie Wiesel and Rabbi Arthur Hertzberg as well as the AJC and Yad Vashem withdrew from the international conference on genocide in Tel Aviv because the academic sponsors, against Israeli government urging, included sessions on the Armenian case. Wiesel also sought, unilaterally, to abort the conference and, according to Yehuda Bauer, personally lobbied others not to attend. As Finkelstein puts it, it was the first major Holocaust hoax in the twentieth century.
