One pedagogical advantage is that it forces the reader to evaluate differing interpretations of the history of interactions between science and religion. The text is supplemented by an excellent bibliographic essay and an index. Although I was not able to audit the course, I decided to keep the book and read it due to my interest in the history of philosophy and science, and my conversion to traditional Catholicism.
