It's an interesting and thought provoking guide for beginning paranormal investigators, explaining what to get, why you need it, and outlining what to do and not to do during an investigation, how to prep for one, how to deal if something goes wrong, and the like. There are some odd notes from an editor that somehow made it into the text, and there are a lot of typos, but on the whole, it's a good read.

This is, by far, the WORST paranormal themed book I've ever read. Do NOT buy this, not even if you see it at a yard sale for a quarter. It's filled with ridiculous assumptions unsupported by anything that remotely resembles science. If I could give it NEGATIVE stars, I would...that's how bad this is.

Good book to read while you have nothing else to do. It makes things seem more interesting in the long run.

I was excited about this book at first, the concept is great with the gentle blending of scientific thought with the metaphysical belief, however as I read the book I realized that it was seriously lacking on several levels. The biggest flaw of the book is it appears that Barry and Dustin slopped it out in about a week and neither they, nor the publisher, bothered to even throw the book at an editor. There are so many grammatical errors in the book it's painful to read. My 6th grade daughter could have done a better job of writing a book.
There are time when the authors also hint at information but then fail to elaborate. Examples of this include diet and it's link to paranormal phenomena. The book is also a paperback with the pages having 1 inch margins all around. It's such a weak production that I wonder if the authors didn't simply pay to publish it themselves.
Overall I think the book is a fast-and-nasty attempt to cash in a bit more on their popularity and is not a serious attempt at educating open minds about the paranormal. The book is confusing and lacking in so many levels that I would not recommend it. For what this book seeks to cover, there are far better sources on the market.

One of the most amazing books I have read... Very well written.
This is absolutely the worst book I have ever read from an editing standpoint. "Were" is spelled "where" in almost every instance in the book. One paragraph is printed twice. In another paragraph, the editor's notes are present. Any middle school newspaper editor could have done a better job editing. It makes it hard to take the information contained in the book and the authors seriously.

As to the content, there is some good information contained in the book. The authors repeat themselves them quite a bit, and are very vague on a number of topics. Anyone with a little common sense would know a lot of the information on talking with clients and the investigations.

There are also a couple of parts in the book where the authors imply that some people may be too stupid to ghost hunt, i.e. if someone is using a compass and gets lost he or she should put the compass in the drawer and give up ghost hunting.

This book is okay to supplement your collection, but if you are a beginner and looking for a book to help you get started, there are a quite a few books out there that would be better for you than this book.
