This book is magnificent! I have waited so long to find a book that goes through the rituals of invoking the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. This book is full of information about the ancient Egyptian society as to how the society, the people, the priests, and the Pharaohs embraced and viewed the pantheon. The book also gives detail to the 'mythology' associated to each God and Goddess, their beginnings, their personal struggles, their meanings, their changes throughout history, the evolution of their stories, and their individual characteristics and personalities. Though the book is written towards an academic level, the book is also written with such simplicity that I, and I would think other readers, understood the smooth composition and progression of the work.

I really appreciate how each God and Goddess is represented with their own chapters, as well as chapters connecting them to another deity with whom they have a symbolic relationship with. There are also a few chapters associating a spiritual location within the historical Egyptian landscape and structures, temples and the Pyramids, and the ritualistic and symbolic purpose of these structures. The invocations of the Gods and Goddesses are very beautiful, and the way the authors help walk you through the preparation of your alter, specific to each deity, the prayer to invoke the Gods and Goddesses, and the symbolism that you form within your psyche is wonderful and easy to understand. The invocation prayers speak right to my soul.

The most meaningful aspect of this book and the meaning of which the authors wish to imprint upon the reader, especially me, is how the specific purpose for which each God or Goddess is called is explained in the individual chapters. I was amazed on how mind-opening the book is to me, and how the explanation of the roles of each deity fits in my life and the current issues I am facing. The way the Gods and Goddesses approach change in our lives struck me 'close to home'.

Once again, I am so happy that I found this book, and I look forwards to reading more and putting into practice the invocation rituals so I may be closer to my Gods.

The book is a series of almost identical invocations for each and every god/goddess. Not what I was expecting or wanted.

A modern perspective on several of the major Egyptian gods and ways to call on them. If you are into Egyptian from a modern perspective you might want t look into this book. It gives a format for writing your own invocation of these gods, or use these as you will.

Very good book. I would have given it 5 stars but was disappointed that the first invocation we had planned was to Ma'at and She is not included in the book.

I quite liked this book, it provides some lovely introductions and invocations to a multitude of Egyptian gods. I have been working with Hathor and Set for some time and I found this to be a lovely collection, and also a good introduction for those just beginning with this wonderful pantheon.
