Extremely impressed with this author's three books: They all should be required reading for everyone - especially those in Congress.

I loved this book and it's too bad it's not still in print. I really could not put it down once I started reading it. It's broken down into four different stories and because of this it sort of reminds me of Faulkner's "Big Woods" from the standpoint that it's basically a book of short stories. If you are a sportsman or outdoorsman you will definately appreciate and enjoy reading these true tales about Dave Hall's accomplishments throughout his career as an under cover federal game warden. I cannot even imagine putting myself in some of the dangerous predicaments that this man put himself in to catch the bad guys. I don't think they make game wardens like this anymore.

The material for this book is truly fascinating, but the author's prose is so purple that it would make a Harlequin novelist blush. Which made for a very difficult slog.

This is the story of a man who followed his instincts and built one of the most unbelievable game crime investigations ever conducted. One lead to another into a world of massive poaching almost beyond comprehension and what it cost him in personal hardships and eventually his health. Truly a story that needed to be told.

The book was exactly as represented by the seller. The book itself is a great read! As wildlife officer myself, it's a great documentation of our history to add to my collection.
Great
