That doesn't romanticize marriage or make it ideal but it does help us understand it. Many people grow up through their marriages. Not everybody does, we have many people who keep repeating the same patterns. This Shadow Dance work book helps you discover the reason we create patterns in our relationships. This is not just significant others. A Description of the Shadow: Hidden or unconscious aspects of oneself, both good and bad, which the ego has either repressed or never realized. Rejected aspects of ourselves and also undeveloped potential. How the Astrological 7th House, in particular can help you discover the parts of yourself that get projected whenever a fascination with a potential lover (or what drew two people together in the first place) occurs. Or a person you hate or cannot stand as both contain parts of our Shadow.

Rebeca Eigen, widely acclaimed astrologer specializing in the 7th house of astrology, marriage, partnership and open enemies will be speaking with us today. Rebeca is the author of a book called "The Shadow Dance, and the Astrological Seventh House. Rebeca is the only astrologer I personally know about who specializes in the Seventh House, and my experience of her is that she knows whereof she speaks! Please come listen as I talk with Rebeca about how to heal relationships by studying the seventh house and its opposite, the first house.

When I learned about Carl Jung's work - specifically his concept of the Shadow - I wanted to DANCE with JOY.

about this book: I was inspired to write this book because in my 30s and even 40s-50s I realized that relationship issues were repeating. Not just for me but for everyone else I knew well. When I learned about Carl Jung's work - specifically his concept of the Shadow - I wanted to DANCE with JOY. Of cource it made perfect sense to me. I had already been studying Astrology and had learned early on that being a LIBRA that I was destined to want to understand whys and hows of relating as Libra is the sign of marriage. It was even more complex than just that

Since this house is about unions of all sorts and not only marriage . The native will be open and caring, and this will bring appreciation and friendships. He will truly want others to be happy and successful.

Since this house is about unions of all sorts and not only marriage, it shows how well you will do in business and any other kinds of partnerships. It shows whether you will have enemies in the business world or enemies to do with your employment. Those will be visible enemies, as it’s the twelfth house that deals with secret enemies, such as the ones that use occult forces to cause harm.

Do you find yourself asking: - Why did I attract him or her? - Why are all my bosses the same? - Why is this repeating in my life? Learning about our Shadow shows us: - The hidden part of us that we badly need to have healthy relationships. - How taking responsibility for our lives can lead to wholeness and healing. In this workbook you will learn: - The concept of the Shadow, a term coined by the eminent psychiatrist, Dr. Carl G. Jung, how it is formed and where it stems from. - Repetitive patterns in relationships and why they occur. The term “projection” and what that means to each individual. This can be relationships with spouses, bosses, siblings, friends, anyone so all relationships. - How to meet people halfway and discover your missing parts. - Astrology, a synchronistic model = A tool for self awareness that can help you in all your relationships as you see the many characters that you inherently are. How all these parts need a place to be expressed in your life. - How the Astrological 7th House, in particular can help you discover the parts of yourself that get projected whenever a “fascination” with a potential lover (or what drew two people together in the first place) occurs. Or a person you “hate” or “cannot stand” as both contain parts of our Shadow. - Some essential ingredients for communication and how each person can contribute to improving the quality of their relationship by owning their own Shadow. - Ultimately we will find out we are not victims, that all our relationships are purposeful and that the Universe brings to us exactly what we need to become conscious of our many “Selves” hidden in the unconscious part of us that Jung called our Shadow. This workbook is designed to help you do Shadow work. The planets in or ruling the 7th House and in aspect to Venus will give you details of what you are missing in yourself. These hidden parts will be projected onto our partners. Once you can own your own Shadow, then a conscious relationship can begin as two people have detailed information to help them learn to cooperate and compromise (two key Libra words). Rebeca uses astrology, psychology and personal anecdotes as well as examples of those who have taken her workshops.

Each of the former reviewers has pointed out many of the fine features of this book. You don't have to have knowledge of astrology to appreciate it and gain from reading it. It may even be best if you do not. The first two sections are filled with Jungian teachings about projection and understanding the dynamics which our unconscious wounds bring to any close relationship. Her writing style is friendly, conversational, and easy to read; and her personal stories enrich the information presented. Other astrology books about relationships try to tell you what planet/sign etc. goes well with what other one, or doesn't go well, and what will happen with certain cross aspects. The implication being that you can choose or avoid relationships based on external symbols. Rebeca does a masterful job of explaining that relationships are what we bring to them, and important relationships have the purpose of teaching ourselves about who we really are...the good and the ugly. She gives thorough explanations as to why we need to become aware of our inner dynamics in order to have successful relationships. If we do not, we are going to meet ourselves in others....the projection. In the second part of the book, Rebeca also improves the usual application of astrology to relationships. She describes a broad range of possible expression for astrological symbols. She makes it clear that these are symbols of our own inner psychic dynamics, not external causes. The expression of these depends upon each person's level of self-awareness, conscious evolution and authenticity, not upon whether they exist in your birth chart or the chart of a partner. It is clear that they are symbols of potential only; the expression varying with each person's level of development. She gives much food for thought and worksheet pages where one can write reflections. At the back of the workbook, for further study, she gives a wonderful list of books and authors. Many of these she refers to in her text. Rebeca's workbook is designed for self-discovery and well worth the journey. As an astrologer myself who is very interested in relationship dynamics, I highly recommend this book!

All I can say this is the only book I felt was more clear and helpful compared to other texts out on Amazon. But I would say exercises at the end of each chapter will help you structure your responses and revelations from these exercises are going to be surprising (and probably hurtful at the same time). If you are willing to understand yourself, your life and situations, this book can provide some great insights that you might not have encountered before.Good Luck!!

I wrote it so I love it ... :) This book was self-published by me in 2009 and it is 2016 and I only have 2 brand new copies left. I had to buy some used copies back as I ran out.

Rebeca’s book is very lucid, articulate, and nicely organized, which helps readers focus on what’s essential while also participating in what they're learning. The folksy, conversational style with lots of stories and anecdotes give this workbook a personal, readable quality that pulls you in – almost like an adventure story! A long time exponent of Jung and true lover of his work, Rebeca utilizes Jung's concept of the shadow to good advantage in her interpretations of 7th house planets, relationship dynamics, and more. Readers will find much to ponder in these pages.

Rebeca Eigen’s fine workbook presses astrology forward out of the age of determinism and fortune-telling. She speaks empoweringly of the choices we make, even in the face of the most challenging dimensions of our natures. Individuals, and especially couples, everywhere will find it direct, penetrating and eminently helpful. I recommend it without reservation.

I am truly amazed at the depth of this book. Shadow work is a hard thing to do and a difficult subject to write about, and Rebeca Eigen has done this with true brilliance. Lovers of Jungian thought will delight in this profound work.

This book continues to challenge me in all aspects of my life in becoming a more conscious person to better my marriage, personal life, and relationship with God. Being a Christian made me a little skeptical, but after reading through the first few pages I felt like God was speaking to me, and I was not dening my faith. I would have to say that this book is very practical, user friendly, and will make you feel comfortable reading it as a Christian because of how intigrated biblical concepts are used in explaining these ideas and concepts. I encourage anyone to read this book and challange yourself to change for the better and not be afraid for God did not give us the spirit of fear but of love and a sound mind, so let the spirit of God guide you in all things.
