Books and CDs from Flashpoint Press. A novel by Derrick Jensen. In this collection of interviews, Derrick Jensen discusses the destructive dominant culture with ten people who have devoted their lives to undermining it. A serial killer stalks the streets of Spokane, acting out a misogynist script from the dark heart of this culture. Across town, a writer named Derrick has spent his life tracking the reasons-political, psychological, spiritual-for the sadism of modern civilization. And through the grim nights, Nika, a trafficked woman, tries to survive the grinding violence of prostitution.
The stories read like mysteries, which I found interesting; Jensen gave us puzzle pieces and seemingly challenged us to figure out the solutions before the end. It seemed he really wanted the "aha!" moment, which, as I mentioned earlier, was too forced at times. Nonetheless, Jensen threads the 3-part story of two Trolls separated by destructive human civilization through the entire book, which reaches a crescendo in the last chapter.
