Faulkner House Books, New Orleans, Louisiana. Back in 1925, a 27-year-old, unknown writer named William Faulkner rented some rooms in the heart of New Orleans's French Quarter. Today, those same rooms serve as Faulkner House Books, a tiny bookstore and literary landmark honoring the man (and eventual Nobel Laureate) who wrote such iconic novels as The Sound and the Fury and As I Lay Dying after his stint in New Orleans.
