Clayton, Michael, and William Steinkraus. The Complete Book of Show Jumping. Classic Show Jumping: The de Nemethy Method; A Complete System for Training Today's Horses and Riders. New York: Crown Publishers, 1975. de Nemethy, Bertalan.

Steinkraus participated in five Olympic Games. He obtained two silver medals in Team Jumping, first in 1960 on his mount, Ksar d"Espirt, and 1972 on Main Spring. He was also slated to ride on the 1964 Olympic Team until his horse, Sinjon, was injured. After college, Steinkraus focused on his riding career, and went on to join the Olympic team at the 1952 Helsinki Games. He also was a true amateur during this time, working as a businessman. Steinkraus retired from international competition at the end of 1972, following the show season, but continued to remain involved in the horse showing industry.

Steinkraus also cites other books and authors he'd read throughout the book; something I found interesting but also slightly .

Overall, I definitely recommend this book, though I also recognize that it's not for everyone; the wordy writing style might be a bit much for some readers, though the book itself is only around 140 pages.

William Clark Steinkraus. See actions taken by the people who manage and post content. the man who epitomized style on horseback. Page created – 14 February 2010.
