I have a hard time trying to get all of my students to read because they don’t care about literature and they can’t critically think because all they are used to are multiple choice tests. My public school teachers were all incredibly well compensated, genuinely enthusiastic about the subjects they taught, and my school was filled to the brim with /other opportunities to advance your studies beyond the state mandated norm.
