The Complete Poetry book.

The Complete Poetry book. MIKLOS RADNOTI: THE COMPLETE POEMS IN HUNGARIAN AND ENGLISH, translated by Gabor Barabas, includes the books published in Radnoti's lifetime along with the ten poems found in a notebook in his pocket after his body was discovered in a mass grave, executed at age 35 by Hungarian soldiers during the Holocaust.

The story of his last poems is compelling- his widow found them in an overcoat pocket when his body was exhumed from a mass grave after he had been shot by the Nazis near the end of WW II.

Miklós Radnóti: The Complete Poetry in Hungarian and English (English . Radnoti was one of the great twentieth century poets. This would be true even if his story was not one of great poignancy and sadness.

Series: Lockert Library of Poetry in Translation (Book 36). Hardcover: 186 pages. Publisher: Princeton University Press (August 2, 1992). He wrote his last poems on a forced march during the Shoah (Holocaust) and ended his life shot into a mass grave with those final, brilliant poems in his pocket. They were discovered when he was exhumed and reburied after the war.

Radnóti’s collected poetry, including his final poems, was published as Tajtékos ég (1946; translated into English as Clouded Sky, 1986). Radnóti is recognized as one of the most important poetic witnesses to the Holocaust, and his work has been translated widely and continuously. Poems by Miklós Radnóti.
