I found this book to be an absolutely priceless resource for my own personal historical research and studies, as well as a highly affordable alternative to a comparable text which is exceptionally expensive. This book, and its series, are fantasitcally researched and contain information obtained by the author through direct personal association with family members' and access to personal archives, rending much of the information contained within, completely unobtainable from any other source. Further, this book and series are incredibly well made. The books are near museum quality in construction and contain only the best of available documents and photographs. Extremely well researched, and made. Absolutely essential and incredibly priced.

I like to read different German field and company officers from WW2,and also their campaigns and battles. I like the prestige of the award but don't like reading a lot of similar less known soldiers or the amount of German Cross in Gold medals awarded.
I learn different German SS soldiers and enjoy Das Reich material. It also has other medals I appreciate. I like Close Combat Clasp in Gold and Wound Badge in Gold for that particular division.
This work is similar to Knights Cross holders for SS and their battles by Peter Mooney which I'm reading.
